I slipped back into the supply closet with ease. Yet, here in the darkness, I couldn’t shake the awareness of the lifeless Commander beneath the workbench.

More overpowering, however, were the lingering sensations of Braxl’s touch against my skin. His fingertips still seemed to burn against my biceps, my neck, my waist. I couldn’t help but wonder how many claw marks I’d left on his chest and hips, just as he had left his marks on me.

Raising my hands to my cheeks, I could still feel the flush. The connection between us had been far more intense than I anticipated. In those moments, I had almost forgotten that I was orchestrating the situation and simply allowed myself to revel in the experience.

With a Krafina…

With someone who stands to inherit the rule of Prexis Prime and its oppression of the human race.

Still…

With a slow exhale, I grabbed the crowbar and bent down to open the panel where I had concealed Vishin along with enough munitions to spell certain doom for the rest of the ships.

I had certainly enjoyed myself in the holodeck. I couldn’t believe that he was faking how much he enjoyed it, too. I mean, he certainly seemed surprised by the heat. I could feel how he wanted me as he clutched and kissed me, and his dick got harder and larger than any I had ever seen on a human man. My throat was a bit sore, to be honest. More than the answers to lust that I could see were true, his caresses afterward were undoubtedly sweet. Why would he care about lying about that?

What did that mean for my plans?

The panel pried open, and Vishin’s boot spilled out, clunking with a certainty that filled me with a surprising dread.

Nothing. It couldn’t change anything about my plans.

I was a soldier. I had a mission.

Failure was not an option

A small wave of guilt hit me, but I quickly brushed it away.

This was war. And in war, there would be losses.

I’d spent plenty of time reading reports that detailed the countless human lives lost because of these Commanders and their horrid beliefs. His death wasn’t for me, it was the for them. And any time I felt that sense of doubt of my actions, I remembered the humans who had been sacrificed in the name of glory.

Surely, Braxl faced his missions with a similar determination. No distraction could lead him astray.

A smile snuck to my lips as I remembered the flame of his eyes, that driven, soulful look that said he would get whatever he was after.

It thrilled me that I had been the challenge he set his supreme focus on during our holodeck escapade. Braxl had given me access to the kitchens. I had played it well, happy to be involved in the wedding plans and eager to taste the items that might be served at our blissful reception. Or so I seemed. I tried not to ask any questions about trash disposal for fear of raising suspicion. But the fires burned bright in the kitchen to eliminate any waste while traveling through space.
